Stella Iris RedRaven, Vfc.,
High Priestess of Conscious Joy
Member of the Council of Elders
2008 High Priestess in the Wildflower Tradition
2008 High Priestess in the Bloodroot Honey Priestess Tribe
Aphrodite, Artemis, Ganesh, the Morrighan, Iris Lady of Rainbows
Iris first learned the Craft from her mother, and initiated in the Evensong Tradition of Wicca at age 13. Through these studies, she found the Goddess, the power of polarity and balance, and the tools to perform magic. Lady Evensong taught Iris the value of service, that the path of a witch is that of the wise woman or cunning man, able to offer magical and practical aid at any time. After earning a degree in Philosophy with concentration on religion and women's studies, Iris committed to her partner Jack. They have since been blessed with a radiant child, whom they love wholeheartedly. Together they relocated to the SF Bay Area to allow Iris to continue her academic studies, resulting in an MA in Women's Spirituality.
Because of this move, Iris met the founding members of CAYA Coven. Iris helped to support and shape the beginnings of CAYA, and was one of the first to be ordained. Iris is a High Priestess of the Wildflower tradition, and of the Bloodroot Honey Priestess Tribe. She currently serves as Pastoral High Priestess, serving our clergy as a counselor and coach, as well as a council member, public service volunteer coordinator, and ritualist. Iris loves to hold space for people to experience magic, self-knowledge, and ecstatic bliss.
Professionally, Iris is Operations Manager at The Sacred Well, which serves the needs of the wider community of many paths. There, she is also a Tarot reader, with over 18 years practicing, studying, and loving the tarot. She is grateful that her career path and her magical path are so well intertwined.
Priestess of Conscious Joy
We have been gifted with sentience. We have the ability to see and evaluate ourselves, our behaviors, our ideas. This Consciousness is often thought to bring suffering, but it is actually the invitation to experience Joy. Our souls choose this existence; with this particular set of challenges, lessons, and victories for the value of the experience. Discover the path toward Joy, make magic to propel yourself toward it, and bring your beloveds with you. Blessed Be.
Statement of Ethics
I believe in authenticity, compassion, and hope. I believe that love can make change. I believe that we are here to help one another experience the Joy that comes from knowing we are not separate. I believe that each of us is truly sovereign: in body, mind, and spirit. Neither earthly nor supernatural beings may take away the sovereignty that is our birthright. Choosing to infringe on another person is actually the path of separation or power-over, rather than the celebration of power from within.
Commitments must be given carefully, and broken only as a last resort. We are defined by our ability to show up for Deity, for our loved ones, and for our community. We are defined by our word. It is our word that makes our magic.
The power of deity is reflected in each of us. Aligning your consciousness with the divine within you is the essence of ritual. Applying your passions and desires is what creates magic. The repetition and strengthening of these patterns becomes a way of life.
