DJ, Eileen, and Kar Sing!
Sunday, July 30, 7:00-9:30PM
The Monkey House, 1638 University Avenue, Berkeley
$15-$20, sliding scale

Three soulful, intelligent, and authentic songwriters bring their collected works to this intimate and welcoming Berkeley Venue. Expect wisdom and whimsy, spirit and earthiness, all accompanied by mountain dulcimer, guitar, and ukulele.

Two sets of our music in the round will be presented. If you're lucky, we'll all do something on ukulele together (you'll have to push DJ on that one, though!)

Deborah Hamouris (“DJ” to her friends) is a singer-songwriter with a long performance and recording history in the Bay Area. Musically versatile, she performs as both a jazz vocalist and (on her mountain dulcimer) as a traditionally-influenced song smith. Deborah is working on her 2nd recording with jazz guitarist Mimi Fox, “1 in 8”, original songs she wrote during successful cancer treatment.

Eileen Hazel is a bard of the human soul. Her minstrel spirit and finely crafted songs will take you on a journey from the depths of sorrow to the healing solace of laughter.
In addition to performing as a solo artist, Eileen sings with the Spiral Dance Chorus and sings and plays 'ukulele with 'Ahamele Hawaiian Music Ensemble.

San Francisco singer-songwriter Kar Davis has been performing in Bay Area venues since 2015. Her original songs have a classic-folk feel to them, with jaunty ukulele stylings and pragmatically optimistic lyrics. It’s likely you will find yourself tapping your foot or joining in for a chorus as the sound and the message go down easy… and leave you feeling good!
