with Linda Kallenberger
Tuesday, August 9, 5:30-8:30PM
Three Stone Hearth Community Kitchen, 1581 University Avenue, Berkeley
In this hands-on class, cheesemaker and worker-owner Linda Kallenberger will introduce you to farmstead cheeses and how traditional small scale production translates to modern urban living. She will go over concepts of microorganisms and coagulation and demonstrate feta, paneer, and mozzarella. We will have a tasting of our class creations and Linda’s other favorites. Our homemade kombucha will accompany the cheese feast and you will take some samples home.
Kids ages 7- 12 are welcome to attend and participate with a paying adult. No registration fee is required for children under 12, however, if accompanied by a child, please plan to pay an additional supply fee ($15), so they may participate in the cheesemaking. If you will be accompanied by a child, make a note saying so when registering.
