Please join Meghan Shimek for an evening of meditative weaving! This class is a form of relaxation, there will be no rules or mistakes. When you arrive, the looms will be warped and Meghan will get you started with the weaving process. She will answer questions, but this class is about using your creativity to make something unique. There will be many different types of materials available from yarn and sequins to bark and feathers.
The class fee includes an instruction booklet, tapestry needle, dowel to hang your weaving and materials to weave with (You can also take materials home with you to start your next project). The looms are on LOAN for the workshop and are available for purchase at the end of the class for $65 if you wish to purchase.
Meghan Shimek is a weaver and fiber artist living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Meghan is inspired by her past, present and future. She integrates the natural beauty of her surroundings, the memory of quiet snowy nights, and the sound of the stream running under her home into every weaving. Meghan uses traditional tapestry and Navajo weaving techniques with raw fibers and objects to create abstract and textural wall hangings.
