Celebrate our local creeks with these free family-friendly activities. Win a prize when you complete the Family Fun Day Passport! Enjoy the beautiful 0.42 mile walk along Santa Rosa Creek between Prince Gateway Park and Olive Park. Stop to enjoy the fun and exciting creek activities along the way.
Visit all our informational booths. See and touch tide pool animals at the Environmental Discovery Center with information on parks and natural history of our area. See a river otter up close (stuffed treat). Sonoma/Marin Mosquito and Vector Control District will bring some live aquatic insects for kids to study, and we'll have erasable drawing boards and pens so that kids can draw what they see.
Post a photo to their Facebook page, a winner will be chosen to receive an artist kit. Learn about yellowjackets, mosquitoes and rodents who are often found around our creeks. Find out how the National Marine Fisheries Service is protecting fish like salmon and steelhead trout and ask Forgotten Felines how the feral cats in your neighborhoods can be cared for.
Come to Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue booth to learn about your local native wild animals! Touch fur and feathers, find out about what a wildlife rehabilitation center does, and see pictures of our patients.
