Despite what we’ve been told, fat is good for us! Good ‘ol grass fed fat that is! Taking a cue from our ancestors, we include this nourishing substance not only to for its flavor, but for its important functions in the body. In this workshop we will explore the benefits of healthy fats and how to incorporate them in the modern meal. We will demonstrate how to make ghee at home and show you how to add in a few key herbs for extra stress and immune support that will keep you vibrant for the upcoming Fall and Winter seasons!
Summer & Sarah are the creators of The Great Kosmic Kitchen blog where they showcase the art of incorporating healing plants, traditional foods, and sacred rituals into daily life. For the past 7 years, they have aligned themselves to live, work, and study medicinal plants in many immersive experiences. Together they studied permaculture at The Regenerative Design Institute in Bolinas, CA and Community Herbalism at The Florida School of Holistic Living in Orlando, FL. Summer then ventured to Vermont to apprentice with Rosemary Gladstar, which led her to study at The California School of Herbal Studies in 2013. During this time, Sarah interned at Herb Pharm in Oregon, apprenticed in Tassajara Zen Center’s Kitchen and traveled to study the Amazonian plants of the Peruvian jungle.
