Atava Garcia Swiecicki, MA, RH (AHG). Atava is inspired by the healing traditions of her ancestors and loves connecting people to the amazing and healing world of medicinal plants! She has been studying and practicing healing arts for over 20 years. Atava’s healing work is a unique and powerful combination of curanderismo, herbal medicine, flower essence therapy, therapeutic dream work, and energetic bodywork. Atava is the founder of the Ancestral Apothecary School in Oakland, which is dedicated to teaching herbal, folk and indigenous medicine. Her business Ancestral Apothecary also manufactures a small herbal product line.
Lilia Roman is originally from Morelos, Mexico. She has been studying dance and body movement for over 15 years and practicing Curanderismo, the healing arts of Mexico, throughout her life. She believes that yoga is not only exercise or physical movement but the unfolding of our true being. Through the breath, movement and awareness, the person is unraveling what he/she has always been but has been blocked, repressed, or denied through layers and layers of trauma, both physical and emotional, which have created false ideas of ourselves. Lilia holds a certificate in iRest Yoga Nidra, Chair Yoga, and Prenatal. She has also studied Integrative Yoga Therapy, healing sound, Qigong, and is the founder of Ollin Yoga-Movement for Transformation. With much love, compassion, and deep respect for the human body, Lilia creates a practice that is influenced by Iyengar, Viniyoga, yoga therapeutics, and the beautiful Sun Salutes of Ashtanga.
