Learn to make your own sauerkraut, kimchi or other pickled vegetable variation in this hands-on workshop with Preserved owner Elizabeth Vecchiarelli.
Elizabeth will talk about the history, nutritive value, and simple technique of lacto-fermented pickling. Each student will get recipes, a personal jar of kraut and a custom blend of Oaktown spices to ferment at home!

Preserved is a DIY supply shop focused on preserving and fermenting. It is located in the backyard of Neighbor, a home goods boutique on Piedmont Avenue in Oakland with a beautiful communal yard. There, Preserved hosts their weekly outdoor workshops on Thursday evenings & Saturday mornings.
