Creativity Through the Out of Body Experience
with Anne Vernon
part of the Gualala Arts Lecture Series
Thursday, July 30, 7:00PM
Coleman Auditorium, Gualala Arts Center,
46501 Old State Highway, Gualala

After a life-changing experience six years ago that led her to explore the power of hypnotherapy and art, Anne Vernon wants to share with others her journey of discovery in her talk on Thursday, July 30 at the Gualala Arts Center. She will discuss various techniques and ideas that can assist in initiating Out of Body experiences, and unblocking the creative process.

Vernon points out, “Creatives are notoriously in touch with their subconscious. Whether creative in engineering, art, technology, music, or any discipline in life, they value that ability as essential to a well lived life. We want to have a passion for living, for new ideas, for helping others. Life, after all, is meant to be lived to the fullest, and that is measured uniquely and individually by each soul on earth.”

She will explain how the listeners can purposely study their subconscious in order to unlock a more profound way of living. One of the ways to do this is to learn to expand dreams, to control them through lucid dreaming, and to recognize or learn to initiate an Out of Body experience.

Six years ago, Vernon had a life-altering epiphany. The experience opened a door to an artistic creativity that compelled her to expand her work of two decades as an illustrator, art director, and designer in the advertising field. At the same time she began studying hypnotherapy to learn more about her personal spirituality and about life’s mysteries

By combining art and hypnotherapy, she has developed the tools to help others with a variety of issues from learning how to interpret and use dreams as tools, using regression for emotional clearing and idea generation, overcoming creative blocks, removing self-imposed limitations, to dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder. A trained clinical hypnotherapist, Vernon offers a variety of trainings and therapy sessions

Creating time period portraits from experiences that her clients reveal while under hypnosis is an example of what she calls “hand to soul” encounters that inspire her paintings. Her own work in watercolor, pastels, charcoal, conté, oils, silkscreen, and encaustic is found in several private collections.
