Soap Making with Alana Rivera of Etta + Billie

Learn the science and magic behind soap making in this 3 hour demo and hands on class. Alana will cover all the soap basics including working safely with lye, creating recipes using essential oils and botanicals, plus she’ll share resources so you can continue your soap journey. You will leave the class with two bars of soap, recipes and the confidence to make soap at home.
Alana Rivera, a Northern California native, is the owner and creator of Etta + Billie, a small batch sustainable bath and body company. She has been making soap since 2007 and followed her love of all things natural a certificate in herbalism at the California School of Herbal Studies. Her products can be found in small boutiques across the country and have been featured in magazines and various blogs. She’s collaborated on multiple soapy projects with other SF makers such as Speakeasy, Ritual Coffee, and T-We Tea. When not in her soap studio, you’ll find her reading, sipping cocktails (preferably bourbon based) and planning her next meal.
