Scientific truths and spiritual truths have complementary places in our culture. But is science compatible with spirituality?
Sky Nelson-Isaacs will introduce a specific holistic principle, “There is one unified entity in existence (Self), which perceives the world (itSelf) through localized perspectives, individually, one at a time.” From this one broad statement we will see how we might derive principles of both physics and spirituality. Showing that light can be considered “timeless”, Sky will propose an “information realm” that contains all possibilities. The quantum wave function is the mathematical expression of these possibilities. Yet the information realm also provides a connection to the spiritual principles of holism and unity consciousness. In total, we will find a perspective on physics and consciousness which is harmonious and enlightening.
Before studying physics at UC Berkeley and careers in education, music, and software, Sky Nelson-Isaacs was a childhood student of Swami Satchidananda. Alongside calculus and electromagnetism, he found personal meaning and glimpses of a deeper truth in the sacred texts of Buddhism, Hinduism and Taoism. In Fall 2015 he is returning to graduate school to study physics at San Francisco State University. Sky is a father and husband, living in Santa Rosa.
