Special Prayer Day for Tsogyal Latso Tibet
Full Moon Saka Dawa Duchen with Yeshe Rabbit
Tuesday, June 2, 6:30PM
The birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana of the Buddha, all celebrated on a single day. Karma is multiplied by 10 million on this day.
Our thoughts, words, and actions should be directed toward compassion and kindness every day, but holidays like Saka Dawa Duchen 10 million karma day remind us to be extra attentive to the practice of bodhicitta in everyday life.
Lama Dechen Yeshe Wangmo of Jnanasukha, an organization that cares for the Tibetan birthplace of dakini Yeshe Tsogyal, and its oracular lake, Tsogyal Latso, has asked members of the extended Yeshe Tsogyal community to perform a special prayer written by the 15th Karmapa, Khakyap Dorje, who described himself as "a son cared for by wisdom dakinis," on Saka Dawa Duchen as a blessing for the new temple at Tsogyal Latso. As I am personally committed to honoring Yeshe Tsogyal's legacy, I will be hosting this special practice.
On June 2, the Tea & Chanting Sangha is invited to gather at 6:30PM (30 minutes before the start of the 21 Tara Practice) to perform this special prayer. We will perform the whole prayer three times: the first and third recitations will be in Tibetan, and the second recitation will be in English. I will provide the text of the prayer during the session.
