In this eight part series, we will unlock the mysteries and greater secrets of the tarot. During our time together, we will learn all seventy-eight cards. We will discuss the traditional meanings and symbolism used in the tarot and the different ways that they can be interpreted. We will also learn tarot spreads and how to make up your own!

The first four classes will be dedicated to the Major Arcana. These are the cards that represent the big events in our lives. In the second half of the series, we will familiarize ourselves with the four suits of the Minor Arcana: the swords, cups, wands, and pentacles.

Learning the tarot can be intimidating but we will keep it simple and go step by step together.

Note: Although there will be extra decks on hand for class, the teacher recommends having a deck of any variety for use at home.

Mary Elizabeth Evans is an artist and tarot reader residing in Oakland, California. In 2014 she illustrated and self published the Spirit Speaktarot deck. Her intentions behind making Spirit Speak Tarot was for the deck to be easy to read and accessible to all. She embodies this same approach to her readings and teaching style. She uses tarot as a tool to better understand our current paths and to guide us to our fuller truths. Her illustrative work focuses on stories and themes of the occult playfully and whimsically through line drawings. In addition, she spends time translating her drawings into brass jewelry using basic metalworking tools.
