The First Annual Ecstatic Poetry And Dance Festival In Sonoma
The glories and epiphanies of poetry combine with the energy and movements of dance.
Mix in yummy food and refreshments with the poetry, music, and dancing and you’ve got the perfect alchemy for community and love.
3:00-4:00PM: Photo Opportunities in front of the Veterans Building.with “Hump-free the Camel” from Lyon Ranch (animal rescue) in Glen Ellen. This is a Family-Friendly event, so bring the kid-lets - including your own inner child.
4:00PM: Rumi’s Caravan
Heart-Opening Poetry and Live Music performed in the Ecstatic Tradition. Rumi’s Caravan poets roll into Sonoma with a precious cargo of mystic poetry, featuring Rumi, Hafiz, Mary Oliver, and more, accompanied by the live music of guests Eliyahu Sills and Jason Ramjit Parmar.
5:30PM: Poetry on a Plate
Chef Isa Jacoby creates a menu honoring Rumi and the ecstatic poets. She will gather ingredients from the vibrantly emerging Spring fields of Sonoma and prepare them with traditional Persian, Afghani, and Turkish flavors.
6:30PM: Ecstatic Dance
DJ Deepflow will play a mix of sublime down-tempo to ecstatic up-tempo music to inspire your inner dancer.
