Women In Maritime Trades: a Panel Discussion

Join us to hear stories from six women who will share their experiences and accomplishments in maritime trades and in careers such as captain, officer, pilot, and more. Light refreshments will be served.
Phyllis Gould, one of the first welders at Kaiser Shipyard during WWII.
Captain Lynn Korwatch, Executive Director of the Maritime Exchange and a former merchant sea captain.
Captain Tuuli Messer, a professor at the California Maritime Academy.
Captain Jeanne Pinto, SFFD fireboat pilot.
Alice Watts, hired by the San Francisco Maritime National Park Association to work on the Age Of Sail education program and to serve as First Mate aboard the scow schooner Alma.
Captain Nancy Wagner, first woman ship pilot in the U.S. and member of the first women’s graduating class at the U.S. merchant Marine Academy at kings point, NY in 1978.
