Friday, March 27, 7:15-8:30PM
The Beanery at Alameda Natural Grocery, 1650 Park Street, Alameda
$20 includes materials and a donation
Lisa Leonard of Mothers Know Best Kombucha will be presenting How to Brew Kombucha: Everything You Could Hope to Know and More.
Mothers Know Best began after Lisa started her first batch of kombucha through the Fermentation Club up at Merritt College. Over the past 5 years she has experimented and produced her kombucha in small batches to retain the homemade taste, which are full of creative flavors and made with love.
Attendees will learn how to make their own homemade kombucha while also bringing home their own starter mother. There will be a $20 fee for the workshop, $10 of which will go to the materials and for the kombucha starter you’ll bring home. Lisa will be donating the other $10 to “True Ferments” Joshua Burbridge’s GoFundMe fund.
Josh, his wife and two kids are the family are behind the popular brand True Family Foods, the maker of True Ferments, a line of fermented foods that we carry in our store.
We will be matching all donations collected at the kombucha workshop to his fund to help Josh and his family cover his medical expenses.
