Bless The Lake: A World Water Day Event
Sunday, March 22, 3:30-6:30PM
Lake Merritt Amphitheater, Lake Merritt Boulevard at 12th Street, Oakland
A day to celebrate. A day to learn. A day to honour. Water is sacred.
Bless the Lake is Oakland’s take on United Nations World Water Day, Sunday, March 22, 2105.
Bless the Lake celebrates our beautiful Lake Merritt and uplifts the spirit of Oakland by healing our relationship with water, our most precious resource. Water is sacred, yet many of us take it for granted.
Bless the Lake includes children’s edutainment, water education, a blessing of the lake, and a synchronized global meditation with 600 locations across the world through Unify’s global #LoveWater campaign.
It is also an experiment to explore whether mass meditation and prayer can reduce crime in Oakland. Portions of our Bless the Lake event will be broadcast live on the Shift Network and Unify.org.
