Plants, like people, are complex. It’s kind of like filling out a dating profile; you make a list of what you do for fun, what books you want people to think you read, your height, hair color, eye color... but there is sooo much to your YOUness that you just can’t capture in a descriptive list! Plants are the same, they have their own personalities and affinities, histories and stories, and getting to know that side of plants helps to apply their medicine. The chemical compounds that affect human physiology is only one dimension of the healing nature of plants - that’s their magic.
Rachel Budde is the maker and creator of Fat and the Moon herbal body care. Budde’s practice is informed by herbalism, ethnobotany, feminism, ancestral knowledge, and the DIY philosophy. Her knowledge and interest in plant medicine span the practical and magical.
