A Sun Blessing for the Body-Temple

Begin by putting on a protective layer of sunscreen. Grab a towel and find a nice patch of sunlight outdoors. Remove your socks, shoes, and outer layers. If you are so inclined and have a safe space to do so, you can strip all the way down. Lay down on your towel in the sun. As each part of the blessing is said, envision that part of your body being filled with sunlight.

Hail to the radiant sun

Hail to the glowing fire of life

May the light of the sun bless my crown

May it touch me gently and disperse all the hectic thoughts crowding me

May the light of the sun bless my brow

May all my worries ease in the face of the sun's energy

May the light of the sun bless my eyes, my ears, my nose, my tongue

May all my senses be enlivened

May the light of the sun bless my lips and throat

May all the shadow-fears stopping me from speaking flee from the sun's light

May the light of the sun bless my shoulders, spine, and back

May I be filled with the strength to carry what needs to be carried

And may my body be light when there is nothing to carry

May the light of the sun bless my chest

May my heart be filled with the radiant light of the sun

May the light of the sun bless my arms and hands

May I be ready to pour forth my energy

May the light of the sun bless my belly

May I be centered in the power of my body

May the light of the sun bless my core

May all fears melt away before the sun's heat

And may I always be free to know my body's pleasure

May the light of the sun bless my thighs and calves

May I be filled with the strength and energy to move

May the light of the sun bless my feet

May I bound lightly and effortlessly over any obstacles I may face

May the light of the sun bless my skin

May its glorious heat sink into me

May the light of the sun bless all my body

Dispelling doubt, fear, pain, and darkness

And bringing light, hope, joy and energy

Blessed be!

Lie in the full light of the sun for a few minutes, absorbing this blessing, before returning to the rest of your day.
