Amazon Sabbats
Amazon Sabbats are celebrations designed for female-born-women in honor of the cycle of menarche. We explore the blood/womb mysteries of maidenhood, motherhood, and croning as important elements of our power. All female born women who seek to honor the female experience through the lens of the reproductive life cycle are welcome to join us at these rituals. Our ritual activities include art- and craft-making projects, deep meditation and trance work, aspecting of mythologies and historical deities/personages in ritual performance, drumming, singing, chanting, and more. Amazon Sabbats are sky-clad.

Rite of the Underworld Crone
The crone descends to the underworld and the depths of the unconscious. She is the oracle. She is the seeress who is unafraid of death. She who has journeyed between the worlds knows what awaits her on the other side. She is not afraid. She steps forward, knowing that as she falls down the tunnel of this world, she emerges from the tunnel in the next. This Sabbat is ideal for trancework, shamanic journey, divination, honoring the Ancestresses, cutting cords, closing chapters on projects or life stories, legacy building, wisdom-sharing, honoring Elders, and witchiness.
Solstice of the Goddess Rising
The Crone gives way to the Maiden. We honor the cycle of death and rebirth. This is the ending and beginning, the turning point. From the darkness, light emerges. Hope and possibility dawn and we rejoice in the coming of the light. This is a great Sabbat for birthing themes, inaugurating and blessing new year projects, wishes, and resolutions, dreaming and visioning for the future, and re-affirming commitment to the highest good of the Goddess and all Her women.
Rite of the Sacred Maiden
The Maiden runs free in nature and discovers her psychic gifts. She is fascinated by magic and wonder. The onset of menses and realization of our "powers" is celebrated. This is the "coming of age" ceremony for the Maiden Goddess. All is open to her as she discovers and is affirmed in her freedom. This is a good time for blessing our bodies, heightening our divination abilities and psychic gifts, celebrating our self-determined natures, cleansing and purifying ourselves of “baggage,” skepticism, powerlessness, or lack of confidence.
Equinox of the Divine Creatrix
The Maiden/Amazon is a nature deity and weaver of the future. She is beginning to understand that she is the creatrix of her own destiny. She speaks to the animals and they speak back. She begins to make a life for herself on her own terms. Now, our Maiden begins to take responsibility for her life, which means she becomes an Amazon. This is a good Sabbat for honoring the cycles of nature, working with animal totems, blessings new creative works and projects, performing activities to underscore self-empowerment, strong possibility of judiciously considered craft activities.
Rite of the Dancing Flowers
The Amazon discovers her sexuality and becomes a woman. She realizes that Her body is a gift, a vehicle for divine pleasure. She prepares to share Herself in passion, sensuality, joy and reverence. She is filled with innocence: the freshness of love’s wonder, untainted by disappointment or jadedness. this is a great Sabbat for sensual activities such as shared massage, adornment, bellydancing, glamor, fire breathing, eye-gazing, kundalini and chakra work, mirror affirmations, and flower-related activities.
Solstice of the Fertile Mother
The mother is pregnant with potential. The sun, full in the sky, is the Goddess's pregnant belly shining down on us. She has wisdom, experience, preparation, and she is ready to be a Mother. She leaves behind her Amazon reality, which was all about her, and moves into a Mother reality, which is all about service to others. This is a good Sabbat for: community and world workings, ocean-related activities, belly and yoni blessings, committing one’s self to an act of service, healing our ideas around motherhood, bringing forth labors of love.
Rite of the Abundant Queen
The Mother reaps the fruits of her labors and becomes the Queen of her own realm. She attains a new level of power, authority, responsibility, and wealth. This is the Sabbat when she becomes the CEO, or the Tribal leader, or the Shamaness. She has given of her body and service in her mother years, and now gets to enjoy the rewards of that generosity and service by taking a prominent place within her community. This is a good time for gratitude workings, honoring our achievements, celebrating good memories, recognizing the abundance in our lives, overcoming neediness, self-validation, reaffirmation of our commitment to good stewardship and positions of authority in life.
Equinox of Courageous Heroines
The Queen, having recognized all the abundance in Her life, must now be prepared to protect it. As the year wanes, our magic for protection in the winter/dark times keeps us feeling safe to gestate new visions. The Courageous Heroine is the Amazon at all phases of life. She is proud, filled with a sense of holy justice, unafraid to be thought of as tough or unyielding, and empowered in Her strength. This is a good time for activities that glorify our accomplishments, transform victimization, create new stories of wholeness, affirm the women who have come before us and paved the path of our freedom, blessing weapons and tools.
